From the Pastor

From the Pastor

The Christian author and pastor, Tony Campolo, tells about the time when he was seven years old, and he had just watched a cowboy western movie. He told his father he wanted to be a cowboy, just like Hopalong Cassidy. And so, he asked his father to help him become one. But, Campolo’s just said, “Let’s wait and see.”

Years later, when it was time to talk about college, Tony Campolo says he was glad his father didn’t say to him, “College! You told me that when you were seven, that you wanted to be a cowboy! So, I have been saving up and I bought you this ranch, — and 50 head of cattle.”

You see, God will always meet our needs, even if He doesn’t always honor our specific requests. This is part of the Father — child relationship! It is trusting that God will always give us what’s best.

I have felt that way since Day One when I arrived at Chestnut Level, and I have all the confidence that God will continue to show us the way in our next adventures.
